Gates Foundation

These days I have had the opportunity to present our movement building work at the Gates Foundation in Seattle. It was an internal meeting of their summer weeks and super interesting guests, including Steve Banks (Lean startup) were invited.

Gates Foundation is collecting the existing narratives of American teachers in order to build a reform movement. We will continue learning from each other and exploring collaboration opportunities. Thanks to Vicky Phillips, Jennifer Aguilar, Carina Wong and the rest of the team. These are some pictures I took in the city.

Cities as Innovation Engines. NESTA Labworks 2015

Cities are proving particularly fertile territory for innovation, from i-teams inside municipalities to civic hacking movements of citizens working collaboratively cross sector to transform their city. What methods and tools are emerging – from open data through civic technology – that allow cities to tap into their collective intelligence and what role can labs play as catalysts in cities’ innovation engines?
