This is a picture of the first building constructed at Bilbao Social Innovation Park. It is the biggest modular construction of this kind ever done in Spain, 3 floors and 3000 squared meters finalized in 40 days! As publicly announced, DigiPen will use it for training the first class of their European campus at Zierbana. Filippo Addarii, Director of Euclid Network, is the one with the nice helmet.

Entre muchos ponentes super interesantes, estarán presentes Kent Larson y Ryan Chin, nuestros compañeros del Media Lab que han hecho posible el proyecto Hiriko.
It has been just a week since Diogo Vasconcellos died. He was one of the real social innovation pioneers who succeeded in seducing CISCO to follow this bold adventure. Now we were trying to conquer the automotive sector together. I hope in the next few months, the result of this work will emerge as a tribute to his legacy. Trabajando en colaboración con organizaciones locales y con la Fundación Unicredit, Euclid Network ha identificado 6 retos para desarrollar en Nápoles, como por ejemplo transformar una villa que fue confiscada a la Camorra en algún negocio de provecho para la comunidad y han invitado a innovadores sociales a que presenten sus propuestas y soluciones.La Competición está abierta a todo tipo de innovadores/as, incluyendo públicos y privados, instituciones con y sin ánimo de lucro, organizaciones y empresas de todo el mundo. Esta es una oportunidad para todo aquel que esté interesado/a en tomar parte en el reto de mejorar la sociedad poniendo a prueba sus capacidades y creatividad en un entorno complicado como Nápoles. Un jurado internacional evaluará las aplicaciones y proclamará a los/as 6 ganadores/as en la conferencia internacional que se celebrará en Nápoles entre el 21 y 23 de Septiembre. Los/as ganadores/as recibirán 10.000 € cada uno para transformar su idea en un proyecto a desarrollar conjuntamente con socios locales. Los organizadores financiarán la totalidad del presupuesto para implementar cada uno de los proyecto que consideren eficaces y sostenibles.
I have just returned from a really interesting trip to Malmo. The City has confirmed their interest in participating in the Mobility on Demand Global Program and we had the opportunity to meet with new potential partners for this adventure. Our hosts, Johan Dahlen and Crister Mansson from Media Evolution did a wonderful job introducing us some of the most innovative talents in the city. Mobile Heights and the Asthonishing Tribe are very good examples of this new global Malmo. Hopefully we will have good news for a Basque-Swedish strategy to conquer the world soon.
Yesterday, it was celebrated the first Basque Crowfunding forum in San Sebastian promoted by Donostia Films. It is the new global trend to innovate in funding for social projects but as highlighted by Eli Urrusolo, this is a very traditional way of funding social projects in the Basque area. Mondragon Corporation and the Basque Federation of Schools are two good examples.
